Cambridge BID
Cambridge BID was established in 2013, we represent over 1,200 businesses in the city. We are funded directly by the businesses who pay a levy to the BID, this funding enables us to deliver a range of activities across the city. The two projects people are most familiar with are the Cambridge Gift card, where we aim to keep spend local to the city, and the Christmas lights and switch-on event. A few of the other projects we deliver include the Ambassadors, who you see at the station and around the City; the raid response cleaning and deep cleaning service, film nights and Wimbledon; street dressing such as the amazing display on Green Street; Restaurant Week; the Arts Festival; the day to day delivery of Visit Cambridge and of course we manage all the social media channels for Love Cambridge, Cambridge BID and Visit Cambridge. Cambridge BID is also a sponsor of the Pander Meander trail. which will arrive in 2027.
The Cambridge Building Society
The Cambridge Building Society was founded in 1850 and has grown to be one of the largest regional building societies in the country. With a balance sheet exceeding £2bn, the Society provides funding to people buying their own homes, as well as being a trusted place to save, predominantly across Cambridgeshire and surrounding area. The Society is based in the centre of Cambridge, with 13 branches in towns and villages around the city, and employs 250 people. Its ethos is to improve access to shelter and housing for people in its local communities, and its charitable initiatives include the award-winning Making The Difference programme, which last year funded a £1m investment into Greater Cambridge Impact, and its unique Rent to Home scheme that enables future first-time buyers to rent a property from The Cambridge, receiving most of their rent back after three years for them to put towards a house deposit.
